Hot-dip galvannealed steel ("GA") is zinc coated steel with zinc-iron alloy layer. Hot rolled or cold rolled steel coils with appropriate properties are used as the base metal of GA. After cleaning the surface and annealing for adjustment of mechanical properties, basic metal is passing through molten zinc bath to provide zinc coating. After the zinc bath, alloying process is applied to steel to make zinc-iron alloy layer. Additional surface treatment may be applied to GA according to customers' requirement.
GA has excellent characteristics such as corrosion resistance, formability, weldability and paint adhesion. GA is mainly used in automobiles.
